Tamiya: Cushing, 1/700 scale

The Tamiya Cushing is almost the same kit as the Fletcher but with a different casting for the hull/deckhouse and parts included for a square-bridge Fletcher with mid-war armament. The box art is nicely executed and will make an excellent reference for building the Cushing as she appeared in 1944.

The hull piece has a midships deckhouse with platforms for twin 40mm abreast the aft stack. The forward deckhouse has enlarged gun tubs so that 40mm twins can be placed there as well.

The mid-war components, such as the flying bridge with platforms for Mk 51 directors included in the Fletcher kit previously described, can be used with this kit to make a mid-war round-bridge Fletcher.

The instructions provide a diagram of the port side Ms 31 16D camouflage that the ship was painted in 1944. The starboard side is shown on the back of the box.
